Ivana Shekutkoska from Minimal Collective Selected for EFP’s Producers on the Move 2026 in Cannes

Macedonian producer Ivana Shekutkoska and her Skopje-based production company Minimal Collective have been selected for the prestigious Producers on the Move 2026 program organized by European Film Promotion during the Cannes Film Festival.

Shekutkoska is among 20 emerging producers from across Europe chosen for this year’s edition of the influential networking and industry platform, which highlights some of the continent’s most promising film producers. The program takes place during the 2026 Cannes Film Festival and aims to foster new international collaborations and co-productions.

The selection marks another major international recognition for Shekutkoska and Minimal Collective following the growing global success of DJ Ahmet, directed by Georgi M. Unkovski. The film, co-produced by Shekutkoska, received the Special Jury Award for Creative Vision and the Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival 2025.

Shekutkoska’s participation also represents a significant moment for the international visibility of Macedonian cinema, with the North Macedonia Film Agency describing her selection as a major achievement for the country’s film industry.

Minimal Collective and Ivana Shekutkoska Win Major Award at Sofia Meetings 2026

Macedonian production company Minimal Collective and producer Ivana Shekutkoska received international recognition at the 23rd edition of Sofia Meetings, one of Southeast Europe’s leading industry platforms for film development and co-production.

Their project The Pot, the Lid and the Nurse, directed by Vardan Tozija, was awarded the prestigious CINELAB Romania Award during the Sofia Meetings 2026 awards ceremony. The prize includes post-production lab services worth €15,000, supporting the project’s next stage of development and international production.

Filming Wraps on Certificate of Life Directed by Sandra Gjorgievska

Production has officially wrapped on the short feature film Certificate of Life, directed by Macedonian filmmaker Sandra Gjorgievska, following an intensive five-day shoot across locations in Skopje and Štip.

The film is produced by Skopje-based production company Minimal Collective in co-production with Croatian company Marinis Media, bringing together a regional crew of 23 film professionals from North Macedonia and Croatia.

Certificate of Life features a prominent cast led by Asja Jovanović, Elena Kirezova, Jelena Jovanova Perić, Mile Vrateovski, and Nenad Mitevski. The project marks another regional collaboration focused on emerging auteur-driven cinema from Southeast Europe.

Director Sandra Gjorgievska described the filming process as an intense but deeply collaborative experience, with the production taking place across multiple urban and intimate locations in Skopje and Štip over the course of five shooting days.

The project continues Minimal Collective’s growing slate of internationally oriented productions and regional co-productions. Founded by producer Ivana Shekutkoska, the company has recently participated in several European development and co-production platforms while expanding its presence within the regional film industry.

With principal photography now completed, Certificate of Life enters post-production and is expected to begin its international festival journey following completion.

Macedonian Producer Ivana Shekutkoska Selected for Ji.hlava Emerging Producers

Macedonian film producer Ivana Shekutkoska has been selected to participate in the prestigious Emerging Producers 2026 program organized by the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival, one of Europe’s leading initiatives dedicated to documentary film professionals.

The selection places Shekutkoska among 18 emerging producers from across Europe and Ethiopia, recognized for their contribution to contemporary European cinema and their potential to shape the future of documentary storytelling.

Based in Skopje, Shekutkoska is the founder of Minimal Collective, a production company focused on auteur-driven fiction and documentary films. Since beginning her producing career in 2016, she has worked on a range of internationally recognized projects across short fiction, documentaries, and feature films.

Shekutkoska gained wider international attention as producer of the feature film DJ Ahmet, directed by Georgi M. Unkovski, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2025 and won the Audience Award in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition.
